To the CLA membership I want to say ‘hello’ and how pleased I am to be the current Chair of the CLA.

It strikes me that there has never been a more important time for an independent voice that champions the place and importance of arts and cultural learning in young people’s lives.

Facilitating subjects scrapped

Today the Russell Group of universities has announced that it is removing the list of facilitating subjects from the guidance it publishes to help young people select the subjects they will study at GCSE and post 16.

Education Select Committee gives Nick Gibb a grilling

Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards and Anne Milton, Minister of State for Apprenticeships and Skills were grilled by the Education Select Committee on 3 April on the subject of school and college funding, and how our current education system is preparing children for the 4th industrial revolution.
