The CLA has been asking signatories to send us information relating to the impact of cuts on cultural learning, and we've had some really strong responses so far. Please do keep on sending these through to inform our submission. We also want your ideas for the future, so that we can flag up and build on the fantastic models of collaboration that you are already working with.Meanwhile, over at the DfE, the Department is calling for evidence to inform the Capital Review. Following the freezing of Building Schools for the Future programmes across the country, Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Education has appointed a review panel which is looking to develop new models for spending on school buildings. There is an opportunity here for us to make the case for investment into cultural facilities for young people and their communities and to flag up the role of local cultural partners in delivering activity in and beyond school.Timescales for both reviews are tight, with submissions due in early September. We see these submissions as an important part of our strategy to raise the profile of cultural learning and to set out the reasons for sustained investment in the sector, so do get in touch in the next week at info@culturallearningalliance.org.uk.
